🐝 Apiary Design and Layout

An interactive 3D apiary plot on graded ground where you can regrade the site's fall, widen the inspection path between two hive rows, raise every stand, and rotate entrance orientation to see drainage, access and flight-path clearance respond in real time.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

How ground grading, stand height, working-path width and shared entrance bearing interact on a real apiary site — independent of wind or forage — to keep hives dry, workable and clear of neighbours.

🎮 How to Use

Flatten or steepen the slope and watch drainage flow and puddle risk change. Narrow the inspection path until the wheelbarrow can no longer pass, then rotate the shared entrance bearing until the flight cone crosses the boundary footpath.

💡 Did You Know?

A commonly used rule of thumb is a gentle 2–8% fall away from hive stands — enough to shed rain without making the ground itself hard to stand on during an inspection.
