A top-down apiary where an intruder periodically walks in from the tree line and tries to take a hive. A finite-state machine drives the attempt β approach β (fence-stop | camera-stop | struggle | steal) β resolve β and which security layers are switched on decides where the chain breaks:
- Fence stops the approach at a fixed radius before the hives are ever reached.
- Camera sweeps a detection cone; if the intruder is inside it, the attempt ends immediately.
- Strap & padlock only matters once the intruder reaches a hive β without it, the hive is lifted and carried off on contact.
- GPS does nothing to stop a theft but recovers it after the fact, once the fleeing intruder has travelled far enough to "surface" the tracker signal.
Security score is a simple weighted sum of the four layers (fence +30, camera +30, strap +22, GPS +8, base 10, capped at 100) β it approximates coverage, not the exact odds of any one attempt.
