The SELECT Trial Cohort, Mapped in Genuine 3D Space
This is the same statistical model as the 2D SELECT trial simulator, rebuilt in a real 3D scene: two patient lattices float on separate depth planes — semaglutide near, placebo far — and a Kaplan-Meier survival ribbon rises above them as the follow-up month advances. Drag to orbit the cohort and watch how the two arms separate over the trial's ~40 months.
- Follow-up (months): drives every quantity at once — the same exponential weight-loss, hs-CRP and cumulative-MACE curves as the 2D version, evaluated at the chosen month and reflected in patient sphere colour, bar heights and the 3D survival ribbon.
- Focus arm: dims the non-selected trial arm's lattice in 3D space so you can isolate the semaglutide or placebo cohort while orbiting.
- Auto-rotate: toggles a slow automatic orbit of the camera around the whole cohort map; you can always override it by dragging.
What the geometry actually computes
Each patient sphere carries a pre-seeded event month drawn from the same inverted cumulative-incidence function used by the 2D simulator (invertCum), so a sphere only turns red and pulses once the follow-up slider reaches that patient's real event month — not a random flicker. The Kaplan-Meier ribbon's height at any point along its month axis is 100 − cumulative MACE% for that arm, so the visible gap between the green and grey curves in 3D is the same relative-risk-reduction number shown in the readout panel.
