🔺 Fractal Dimension
Fractal dimension is a number, often non-integer, that measures how completely a fractal pattern fills space as it is examined at ever-finer scales. Unlike ordinary Euclidean dimension (1 for a line, 2 for a plane), a coastline or the Sierpiński triangle can have a dimension like 1.26 or log3/log2, quantifying its jagged, self-similar complexity.
