🦋 Butterfly Effect
The butterfly effect is the hallmark of chaotic dynamical systems: an infinitesimally small change in initial conditions — metaphorically, a butterfly flapping its wings — gets amplified exponentially over time by sensitive dependence, so trajectories that start almost identically diverge completely, making long-term prediction impossible despite fully deterministic equations.
