This simulator isolates the two conservation techniques a farmer or engineer actually reaches for on an eroding hillside: breaking a long slope into terraces, and covering bare soil with a crop canopy or mulch. Rainfall lands on a 3D terraced field while instanced runoff particles carry a sediment tint that darkens with erosion rate; a physically grounded runoff-velocity model (built on the same V = √(2gRh) relation used to describe flow down a graded ramp) shows why stepping a slope into terraces caps how fast water — and the soil it carries — can move, while a canopy-interception model shows why ground cover cuts splash erosion independently of slope shape. Live readouts track runoff velocity, relative kinetic energy, estimated soil loss and the percentage reduction against an untreated bare slope, so the trade-offs between the two techniques are visible instead of assumed.
