Decoy Effect: Consumer Choice Simulator

Marketers rarely change a product to win more customers — sometimes they just add a third option nobody buys. This simulator populates a 3D "preference space" with 600 shoppers, each with their own price and quality weighting, and lets a random-utility choice model decide what each one buys from a Premium Target and a cheaper Competitor. Add a strategically dominated Decoy — worse than the Target on every attribute, but not clearly worse than the Competitor — and watch the market-share bars swing toward the Target purely from the presence of an option almost nobody chooses. Drag the decoy's own price and quality to find the exact boundary where the asymmetric-dominance effect appears, peaks, and disappears.
