Talus Cone Formation: Frost-Wedging & Angle of Repose

This simulator narrows in on one concrete geomorphic mechanism: how a talus (scree) cone forms at the foot of a cliff. Freeze–thaw weathering periodically breaks a rock fragment loose from the cliff face; the fragment falls, then rolls downslope until the pile can no longer support it, governed by the angle of repose — the same friction-limited threshold that shapes every real scree slope, sand dune toe, and rock avalanche deposit. A cellular relaxation model rebuilds the pile's surface after every event, so the cone's shape and slope are a direct, watchable consequence of the weathering rate and the repose angle you set, not a scripted animation.
