Rock Strata 2D: Deposition, Tilt & Faulting

This simulator grows a sedimentary rock column from scratch, one layer at a time, so the Law of Superposition is visible as it happens rather than asserted after the fact. Tilt and fold the finished package to see that bending rock never reshuffles which layer sits on which — the original time order survives any amount of rotation or warping. Then trigger a fault: only the layers that already exist get displaced, while everything you deposit afterward drapes flat across the break, giving you a direct, hands-on demonstration of the Principle of Cross-Cutting Relationships that geologists use to place faults, dikes and intrusions in a relative timeline.
