DNA Double Helix (2D)

This flattened companion to the 3D DNA double helix simulator draws the same molecule as a scrolling ladder diagram: two antiparallel sugar-phosphate backbones traced as out-of-phase sinusoids, joined by rungs that represent real nitrogenous base pairs. Each rung is generated from an actual base sequence and split into two correctly complementary halves — adenine always opposite thymine, guanine always opposite cytosine — so the colors on screen reflect genuine Watson–Crick base-pairing rules rather than a random per-rung choice. Rotation speed, auto-rotation and a base-pulse effect mirror the controls on the 3D version.
