Ring of smoke is a vortex torus: particles continuously rotate around the ring's cross-section (poloidal motion), maintaining the vortex intact as it moves forward, slowly expanding and diffusing into the air.
Each ring consists of hundreds of smoke particles swirling within a thin torus, maintaining their shape in flight.
