Sailing Ship on the Ocean (2D)

Top-down Canvas2D companion to the 3D scene. The rolling sea is built from the same layered sine-wave field (periods of real ocean swell, roughly 8–16s). Wake is rendered with Lord Kelvin's own construction: every point the hull has passed emits an expanding wave ring whose radius grows at half the hull's speed (deep-water group velocity); stacking those rings produces the true 19.47° herringbone wake angle, not a hand-drawn V. Bow spray follows the hull's own speed.
