How this works

~150 particles interact pairwise within a short radius: overlapping particles push apart (pressure), particles a little further apart pull together (cohesion → surface tension γ), and each pair's relative velocity is partly damped toward the local average (an SPH-style artificial-viscosity term, strength μ). Hotter metal flows more easily, so the temperature slider lowers the effective viscosity through an Arrhenius-style law and adds thermal jitter:
