River Meander Migration Simulator (2D)

This top-down 2D simulator grows a river's meanders from a nearly straight channel by migrating its centerline along the local curvature: sharper bends erode their outer cut bank faster and deposit sediment on the inner point bar, so loops amplify over time instead of staying put. A periodic resampling pass keeps the channel numerically stable as it stretches, and any bend that curls back close enough to itself is cut off and stranded as an oxbow lake — the same self-reinforcing erosion-deposition-cutoff cycle that reshapes real floodplains like the Mississippi's over decades.
