Set wave height and period — the boat rides the surface
This is the flat, side-on companion to the 3D ocean simulator. Instead of an orbitable open-water surface it shows a vertical slice through deep-water swell: a Stokes-corrected wave train (a sine wave plus a smaller second harmonic that sharpens the crests, just like real ocean swell) travels past a small boat that rides up and down with the surface. Set the wave height and wave period — the closest single dial to sustained wind speed — and watch wavelength, phase speed, energy density and wave power update live from the standard deep-water wave equations.
