This 2D simulator shows a geyser in cross-section: an underground chamber connected to the surface by a narrow conduit, heated by geothermal energy from below. As heat builds, the chamber's temperature climbs toward the boiling point set by the hydrostatic pressure of the water column above it — the deeper the chamber, the higher that boiling point sits. Once the water flashes to steam, the column erupts through the vent in a real depth-dependent eruption cycle; adjust the heat rate and chamber depth to see how they change the build time, eruption power, and recharge period.
