How it works

Every shareholder owns a percentage slice of the company. When a new round raises investment I at a pre-money valuation V, the post-money valuation becomes:

Post-money  P = V + I
New investor's stake  = I / P
Dilution factor        d = V / P  (= 1 − I/P)
Every existing holder's stake  →  stake × d

The new investor's percentage is exactly the money they put in divided by what the company is worth right after the round. Everyone who already held shares — founders and earlier investors alike — keeps the same number of shares, but each share is now a smaller slice of a bigger pie, so their percentage shrinks by the same multiplicative factor d, regardless of how much any one of them originally owned.

Pre-money valuation — what the company is deemed worth before the new cash arrives (negotiated between founders and investor).
Investment raised — the cheque size for this round.
Raise This Round — commits the round: recomputes the post-money valuation, dilutes every existing slice by d, and adds the new investor as a fresh wedge.
Undo / Reset — step back through the round history or return to 100% founder ownership.
