Classroom Group Work Simulation

Put a small student team around a virtual table and watch how two well-documented group-work effects — the Ringelmann social-loafing effect and Brooks's Law coordination overhead — shape how fast a shared project actually gets done. Set the team size and each student's skill variance, choose how tasks are assigned (specialized, round-robin or random) and how the team communicates (a hub-and-spoke leader, full mesh, or a sequential handoff chain), then watch students seated around the table, their live communication links, and a central task tower rise as the project's 60 work units get completed. Live readouts track effective throughput, coordination overhead, the social-loafing factor and the projected completion time, making visible why "just add more people" so often backfires on a real group project.
