A systematic review does not simply summarise what a researcher happens to have read — it follows a documented, repeatable procedure (commonly reported using the PRISMA flow diagram) for finding, filtering and synthesising every relevant piece of published apiculture research. This scene renders that procedure as a physical funnel: records fall from the database-search stage at the top, and at each gate a fraction are removed for a specific, pre-registered reason, until only the studies that belong in the final review settle at the bottom.
A well-built PRISMA diagram is itself a citable, reproducible research artefact — it lets a later reviewer see exactly how many records were found, why each exclusion happened, and whether the review can be updated or replicated years later.
