🍯 Beeswax: From Comb to Commercial Product

Watch a worker bee's wax glands secrete translucent scales that are pressed into hexagonal comb, then follow harvested wax through a solar melter, cloth filter and mold into finished beeswax products.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

Wax-gland output depends on hive temperature staying near brood-nest warmth, while later processing quality depends on melt temperature and filtering — both of which affect the purity of the final cast block.

🎮 How to Use

Adjust hive temperature to see gland secretion speed up, slow down or stall. Adjust melter temperature and the filter toggle to see how fast — and how pure — the rendered wax comes out, then pick the final product mold.

Beeswax comb cells are built to a near-perfect hexagonal geometry that uses the least wax for the most storage volume — a shape mathematicians only proved optimal (the "honeycomb conjecture") in 1999.
