🛡️ Apiary Biosecurity Quarantine Lab

A 3D quarantine yard separated from the main apiary, where drifting particles model pathogen and pest load moving between colonies — tune isolation distance, footbath sanitation and inspection sweeps to see how layered barriers cut the risk of an outbreak.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

No single control stops disease introduction. Distance, sanitation and inspection each independently reduce how many pathogen particles ever reach the main apiary — the layers compound rather than replace each other.

🎮 How to Use

Set the isolation distance, inspection interval and new-colony health status, and toggle the footbath barrier. Watch particles drift from the quarantine hives and get intercepted — or breach through — toward the main apiary.

💡 Did You Know?

A single frame of contaminated comb moved without sanitation can carry American foulbrood spores that stay viable in equipment for over 40 years — which is why burning or irradiating infected equipment is standard protocol.
