Each of the 64 colonies gets four random 0–1 trait scores. The sliders set relative weights
w (auto-normalised to sum to 1) that combine them into one selection index:
S = wₚ·p + w𝓰·g + w𝓌·w + wₕ·h
The top ~20% by S turn gold and connect to the central rig — the colonies a real programme
would choose as breeders for instrumental insemination. Advancing a generation moves
every colony's traits toward the breeders' average by a fixed heritability (h²=0.35, the
breeder's equation ΔG = h²·S) plus small random mutation, then
banks the top colony's genetics as a frozen vial in the cryotank — a simple model of
long-term genetic conservation against loss of a valuable line.
