How it works

Three sizing rules are applied to the same top-down site plan as the 3D masterplan, and pull against each other for space:

carSpaces  = ceil(visitors / 12)
carArea    = carSpaces * 12.5 m²
vcArea     = 40 + visitors * 0.35 m²
staffArea  = 8 + staff * 3.6 m²
buffer(m)  = 3 + hives * 0.22

Visitor-centre floor area and parking scale with daily footfall. Staff welfare floor area scales with headcount alone, independent of how busy the site is — workplace welfare guidance sizes rest rooms, changing space and toilets per employee. The sting-safe buffer is a physical clearance around the working hives that grows with the size of the display and pushes the public viewing deck, drawn just outside the buffer ring, further back on the plan.
