Strongly-coupled magnetic resonance wireless power transfer — the mechanism behind WiTricity-style charging pads and mid-range WPT links — doesn't just get more efficient as two resonant coils are brought closer together. Past a critical coupling strength k_c = 1/Q, the single resonance peak of the power-transfer spectrum splits into two distinct peaks, a phenomenon called frequency splitting. This simulator solves the coupled-mode-theory equations for two identical LC resonators in real time, rendering the coil pair and its energy flow in 3D alongside a live transfer-efficiency spectrum. Sweep the coupling coefficient past k_c with the drive frequency fixed at resonance and watch the efficiency dip exactly where the theory predicts, while the spectrum panel reveals the two side peaks emerging.
