Spacesuit CO2 Scrubber: Sorbent Breakthrough Front

Inside every EVA spacesuit's portable life-support pack sits a canister of CO2 sorbent that has to keep pulling carbon dioxide out of the astronaut's breathing loop for the whole excursion. This simulator models that canister as a real fixed-bed adsorption column: a Langmuir isotherm and linear-driving-force rate law drive a mass-transfer zone through a 3D field of instanced sorbent granules, its progress visible as a moving color front. Dial the astronaut's metabolic CO2 output and the purge gas flow rate, compare a fresh bed against a degraded one, and watch the live outlet CO2 partial pressure and bed loading — then trigger vacuum regeneration before the front breaks through to the outlet.
