Statistical Process Control & Process Capability (Cpk)

Manufacturing quality management under ISO 9001 lives or dies on two numbers: is the process in statistical control, and is it capable of meeting the drawing's tolerance? This simulator runs a virtual production line that stamps out parts around a target dimension with adjustable mean and standard deviation, renders each part in 3D colored by whether it falls inside the specification limits, and plots a live X̄ control chart with 3-sigma control limits exactly as a quality engineer would on the shop floor. Live readouts compute Cp and Cpk from the current spec width and process spread, estimate the parts-per-million defect rate from the normal distribution, and flag out-of-control subgroup points — letting you see directly how shifting the process mean off-target or widening its variation erodes capability even when the raw spread would technically still fit inside the tolerance band.
