Struts (compression)
Cables (tension)
This 2D companion to the 3D tensegrity model isolates the single unit that makes every tensegrity structure work: two struts that never touch, held apart purely by cables in tension. A live spring-based force-relaxation loop keeps the assembly at equilibrium — cables pull, struts resist compression, and dragging a node shows the structure spring back on its own once released. The cable-tension slider controls how much prestress is built into the cables, from a barely-standing, floppy assembly at low tension to a taut, stiff one at high tension.
