Solar-Wind Complementarity & Storage Buffer

A hybrid renewable plant rarely needs to store as much energy as a single-source plant of the same size, because solar and wind fluctuations are usually only weakly correlated — clouds pass and the sun sets on one clock, fronts and pressure gradients drive wind on another. This simulator runs a live solar irradiance curve and a live wind-speed curve side by side over a simulated multi-day cycle, renders the actual generating hardware (a solar panel array and a row of wind turbines whose rotor speed tracks wind power) plus a battery buffer that firms the combined output, and computes the rolling Pearson correlation and variance reduction between the two sources so the synergy is a number, not just an impression. Push cloud variability and wind turbulence up to stress the system, then size the battery buffer to see how much storage is actually needed to keep delivery smooth once the two sources are combined.
