Seasonal Thermal Energy Storage — Borehole Field Simulator

Energy and time are inseparable: heat demand peaks in winter, solar supply peaks in summer, and the gap between the two is exactly what seasonal storage is built to close. This simulator models a borehole thermal energy store as six concentric rock shells exchanging heat by conduction, charged by a simulated summer solar collector and discharged by a simulated winter heating load, with losses bleeding to the ambient ground the whole year round. Run the clock forward, tune the charge and draw rates and the store's insulation quality, and watch the core temperature, stored energy and round-trip efficiency respond across a full simulated year.
