Solar Panel Efficiency: Angle of Incidence, Shading & Material

This simulator isolates the three factors that actually decide how many watts a photovoltaic panel delivers: the angle between incoming sunlight and the panel's face (Lambert's cosine law), a real geometrically-cast shadow from a nearby obstacle climbing the panel cell by cell, and the panel's own material efficiency and temperature coefficient. Move the sun's elevation and the panel's tilt to find the angle that maximizes the cosine term, grow an obstacle to watch instanced solar cells go dark one row at a time as a real shadow overtakes the array, and swap between monocrystalline, polycrystalline and thin-film CdTe to see how efficiency and heat sensitivity trade off — all while a live NOCT thermal model and power readout update every frame.
