How it works

This is the site-level view of the same storage loop: a solar array feeds a shared bus, evening demand draws from that bus, and a bank of battery containers absorbs the midday surplus and discharges to close the evening gap. Glowing particles trace real-time power flow along the bus — solar → bus when there's surplus, bus → battery containers while charging, battery containers → demand while discharging. Each container fills or drains as a solid block (its own state of charge), and round-trip losses show up as fewer particles leaving a container than entered it.

Battery containers — more units mean more total capacity spread across the bank, so the fleet absorbs a bigger surplus before any single container saturates.
Round-trip efficiency — sets how many outbound particles a container returns for every particle of charge it received.
Day speed — how fast simulated hours pass, so you can watch a full charge/discharge day complete quickly or slow it down to inspect one transition.

This mirrors how real utility-scale BESS sites are built: standardized shipping-container battery racks (mostly LFP chemistry today) wired to a shared inverter bus, added or removed in whole-container increments as demand for storage grows.
