This is the 2D counterpart of the 3D zinc-air battery cathode simulator. Rather than rendering individual O2 molecules flying through a 3D scene, it numerically solves the same underlying electrochemistry as a 2D reaction-diffusion field: an oxygen concentration grid that diffuses from the bulk air side down to a catalyst row, which consumes O2 according to the delivered discharge current and Faraday's law. The boundary layer visibly thins as current approaches the diffusion limit, and a live polarization curve (voltage vs. current density from Butler-Volmer/Tafel kinetics) tracks the same operating point in real time.
