Thermophotovoltaic Spectral Diagram

This 2D companion to the thermophotovoltaic simulator draws the same physics as a live spectral chart rather than a 3D emitter-to-cell photon flight. The orange curve is the actual Planck blackbody spectral radiance of the emitter at your chosen temperature; every falling dot is a photon whose landing wavelength comes from genuinely sampling that curve, and whose fate — converted to electricity, thermalized as heat, wasted as sub-bandgap loss, or recycled back to the emitter — is decided the instant it crosses the dashed bandgap cutoff line. Watch the three accumulator bars at the bottom fill up in real time as you retune the emitter temperature, the cell's bandgap, or toggle the spectral filter that recycles otherwise-wasted long-wavelength photons.
