Fracture Stability Map: Dendrite Crack Growth 2D

This is the 2D companion to the 3D solid-electrolyte crack-shorting simulator: the same Griffith fracture-mechanics competition, computed independently and shown as a genuine stability map rather than a rendered crack. The top panel plots the stress-intensity curve K(a) = σ·√(πa) against the electrolyte's fracture toughness KIC on log-linear axes, so you can see directly where the curve crosses the toughness line — that crossing is the critical flaw length a_c that separates permanently arrested flaws from runaway ones. A live dot tracks the cell's actual state on that curve as the crack grows, and a strip chart below plots crack length against real time so the same forward-integrated growth law is visible temporally as well as in phase space.
