Ni Coarsening: Population-Balance Cross-Section

This is the 2D companion to the 3D Ni-YSZ anode block simulator, built on a genuinely distinct mechanism: instead of scaling instanced spheres by one closed-form mean radius, it integrates a discrete population of nickel grains through the actual Lifshitz–Slyozov–Wagner mean-field growth law, each grain solving its own ODE against a self-consistent critical radius. The left panel renders the result as a packed 2D polished-cross-section analogue; the right panel plots the live grain-size histogram, so the distribution-broadening signature of Ostwald ripening — invisible in a single mean-radius readout — is directly visible. Stack temperature, current density and time acceleration drive the same underlying kinetics as the 3D view, with the same triple-phase-boundary density and cell-voltage decay readouts.
