Control rods don't add reactivity linearly as they move through a reactor core — because neutron flux is highest at the core mid-plane, a rod tip travelling through the middle sweeps through far more flux than one near the top or bottom, producing a bell-shaped differential worth curve and an S-shaped integral worth curve. This simulator renders a 2D cross-section of a PWR-style core with a single control rod channel: withdraw or insert the bank, tune its total worth, and watch the axial flux shading, the live differential and integral worth curves, and the resulting keff respond in real time — the same rod-worth calibration curve reactor engineers measure on an actual plant.
