This 2D companion to the 3D hydroshearing simulator strips the reservoir down to the two parameters that actually decide whether a pre-existing fracture reactivates: its distance from the injection well and its orientation to the far-field stress. Two hundred and sixty fractures are placed at random (r, θ) coordinates, and a live-computed Mohr-Coulomb stability field is rendered as a heatmap in that same (r, θ) plane — the amber-to-red failure band sweeps outward exactly as fast as the pore-pressure diffusion front does, and any fracture whose cell crosses the failure line turns red and radiates a small seismic event, sized with the same circular-crack moment-magnitude model the 3D sim uses. Tune wellhead pressure, differential stress and friction coefficient to watch the failure band grow, shrink or shift, and track the same traffic-light stimulation protocol against cumulative seismic moment and the largest event so far.
