Locational Marginal Pricing & Grid Congestion (2D)

Real power grids rarely trade at one price. This simulator models two market areas — each with its own stack of generators from cheap baseload up to expensive peakers — linked by a single transmission interconnector with a hard thermal limit. Adjust demand in each area, the interconnector's capacity and how much wind is running in Area A, and the sim solves the actual economic dispatch: it finds the power transfer that equalises the two areas' marginal prices, or, when the line can't carry enough, clamps the flow at its limit and lets the locational marginal prices permanently diverge. Live readouts and a rolling price-history chart show both prices, the flow, which generator is setting the price in each area, and the congestion rent — the real-money value of the transmission bottleneck.
