Lift Regen-to-Second-Life Battery Buffer (2D)

Every trip an elevator car makes is a small tug-of-war against its counterweight: whichever side is heavier gets pulled down by gravity, and whenever the car happens to be moving in that direction the hoist motor switches from drawing power to generating it — exactly the regenerative-braking principle used in electric vehicles, just applied to a lift shaft. This 2D companion runs the same continuous elevator duty cycle as the 3D version — a side-view shaft diagram you can pan and zoom, a battery-bank grid that fills and tints with state of charge, and a live scrolling strip chart of grid draw against your peak-shaving threshold — computing the real energy split between regeneration and consumption from the passenger load and trip rate you set, and routing every regenerated kilowatt-hour into a bank of second-life batteries. Watch the bank's charge rise and fall as it also shaves the building's peak grid demand, and read live totals for harvested energy, peak draw reduction and overall self-sufficiency.
