Visualization of magnetic field force lines
Magnetic fields are created by moving charges (electric current) or permanent magnets.
For a magnetic dipole, the field falls off as 1/rΒ³ with distance.
Every magnet has two poles: North (N) and South (S).
Field lines emerge from N and enter S.
π The direction of the line = the field direction at that point
π The density of lines = field strength
π Field lines never cross each other
βΎοΈ Field lines are closed (there are no monopoles)
