This 2D simulator lays out a top-down floor plan with a draggable WiFi router, movable interior walls and a draggable receiver, then renders a live colour heatmap of received signal strength in dBm across the whole floor. The model combines free-space path loss — signal falling off with the square of distance and rising with frequency — with a fixed decibel penalty every time the direct path crosses a wall, using realistic per-material presets (drywall, wood door, glass, concrete). Drag the receiver anywhere to see its exact reading, the straight-line distance to the router, and how many walls the signal had to punch through to get there — a hands-on way to see why a router placed behind a concrete wall can leave an entire room with an unusable connection.
