Lichtenberg Figure Simulator (2D)

This 2D simulator grows a Lichtenberg figure — the fractal branching pattern left behind when a high-voltage discharge breaks down a dielectric material — by tracing each growing channel along the local voltage field radiating outward from a central electrode. Raise the voltage to push the discharge further before it exhausts its energy, tune the branch probability to trade one long streamer for many forking daughter channels, and increase the material's resistance to watch the field collapse faster and starve the tree into a denser, shorter pattern. Live readouts track the branch count, the longest channel grown so far, and the discharge energy still being dissipated through the material.
