This simulation models a classroom discussion as a group of student agents, each with their own confidence and engagement, deciding turn by turn whether to volunteer to speak. A facilitator can wait longer before calling on someone, cold-call the quietest student, or redirect the floor away from a student who has dominated for too long — the three real techniques teachers use to broaden participation. Watch the participation-equity Gini coefficient and the live speaking network evolve as you adjust wait time, cold-call probability and the redirect threshold, and see how each technique trades off discussion pace against how evenly the floor is shared.
