This simulator makes the abstract craft of differentiated instruction concrete: a 3D classroom of students, each with their own starting skill level, gets split across difficulty tiers built from Vygotsky's Zone of Proximal Development. Every round, a Csikszentmihalyi flow-channel model scores each student's engagement from how well their assigned task difficulty matches their skill — too easy reads as boredom, too hard as anxiety, and only a well-matched "just right" challenge drives real learning gain. Toggle adaptive re-tiering to watch students get promoted up the difficulty staircase as they grow, or turn it off to see a class stall when grouping goes stale, and use the tier count, ZPD width and initial skill spread controls to explore when differentiation actually helps and when a single uniform tier is just as good.
