Educational Equity Simulation

This simulator explores educational equity as a resource-allocation problem: a fixed per-student budget can be spent equally across every school or redistributed toward schools serving lower-income communities, and the two policies produce different achievement gaps even when total spending is unchanged. A simplified education production function combines each socioeconomic quintile's baseline community capital with a diminishing-returns funding effect to score five student cohorts, rendered as five towers of individually scattered students in 3D. Adjusting the equity-weighting slider shows, quantitatively, how targeted funding narrows the Q5−Q1 achievement gap and raises the overall equity index — and how a large structural capital gap can blunt how much funding policy alone can close it.
