This simulation models switch-access scanning, one of the core assistive-technology strategies used in special education to support learners with motor impairments who cannot use a mouse, touchscreen or keyboard directly. A single "switch" press is the only input — the device does the rest, automatically sweeping a cursor across a grid of choices in either row-column or linear order. You set the scan rate and the switch's acceptance delay, then try to select the gold-marked target cell by timing your Space-bar press, watching how those two settings trade off selection speed against error rate exactly as they do when a teacher or clinician configures a real AAC device for a student.
