🐝 Choosing a Bee Suit

A 3D beekeeper mannequin shows the real mechanism behind sting protection: the stand-off gap between an outer suit shell and the skin beneath it, and how fabric, fit and closures each help or hurt that gap.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

A bee's stinger only reaches a few millimetres. Suits protect by holding fabric away from skin beyond that reach — a stand-off gap set by fit, fabric structure and how well closures are sealed.

🎮 How to Use

Adjust fit and fabric to change the gap, toggle the neck/wrist closures, and raise bee agitation to watch bees test the suit. Green sparks mean the gap held; red sparks mean a sting landed.

💡 Did You Know?

Semi-rigid ventilated mesh suits keep their air gap even under a tight fit or in hot weather, which is why many UK beekeepers prefer them to plain cotton drill for long summer inspections.
