Deep-ocean exploration is fundamentally limited by one structural fact: a submersible's spherical pressure hull can only resist so much hydrostatic pressure before it buckles. This simulator descends a research submersible toward the Challenger Deep while tracking two numbers in real time — the hydrostatic pressure closing in from outside (growing by roughly one atmosphere every ten metres) and the hull's critical buckling pressure, computed from its actual radius, wall thickness and material with the classical thin-shell (Zoelly) formula. Adjust hull geometry and material, watch the safety factor fall as you go deeper, and see the sphere collapse the instant hydrostatic pressure overtakes its buckling strength — the same elastic-stability physics that sets the real collapse depth of vehicles like Alvin, Limiting Factor and Shinkai 6500.
