Microplastic Removal in a Wastewater Treatment Train

Municipal wastewater is one of the largest routes microplastic fragments take from consumer products into rivers and oceans, and how much gets through depends on physics that treatment engineers actually design around: Stokes settling in the primary clarifier, floc entrainment in the biological stage, and pore-size sieving in tertiary filtration. This simulator renders all three stages as a real 3D treatment train, streams individual plastic particles through them, and rolls a physically-grounded pass/fail probability for each stage from the particle's diameter, its plastic density and the plant's flow rate, so the live removal-efficiency, effluent-concentration and sludge-trapped readouts are a direct consequence of the same equations a plant operator would use.
