🗺️ Mapping Tools for Beekeepers

A 3D land-use map with three candidate apiary sites, each surrounded by a forage-radius circle whose reach into oilseed rape, woodland, hedgerow, heather and garden forage changes with the season.

🔬 What It Demonstrates

How a forage-radius overlay on a land-cover map lets beekeepers estimate a site's nectar and pollen access, compare candidate sites, and spot overlap between out-apiaries competing for the same forage.

🎮 How to Use

Pick a candidate site, adjust the forage radius, and switch seasons to see which land types are actually blooming. Toggle "Compare all sites" to check overlap, and "Forage-heat layer" to see a GIS-style value ramp instead of true land-cover colours.

💡 Did You Know?

Placing out-apiaries too close together is one of the most common beginner mistakes — a forage map with radius circles is the simplest way to catch it before the bees do.
